WILD ABOUT WILDLIFE

Theme: What do you think when you hear the word "wildlife"? If yoyu are a nature lover, here's an opportunity to exprss your feelings about the nature world in our art. If you think "party animal," have fun with this wildlife theme. This theme is meant to be inclusive and open to artistic interpretation.

Receiving: Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

Reception: Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, from 5 pm to 6:30 p.m.
Removal: Monday, Mar. 3, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Eligibility: This is juried All Council Member Show. This show is open to CCAL members and Art Council of Southwest Florida members. The Judge will determine if artwork meets fine art criteria and is accepted. Exhibiting artists must show current membership card at receiving.

In Studio 1: MEMBERS MONTH & BLACK HISTORY MONTH

All Members wanting to show are welcome to display one piece of their original artwork in Studio I for the month of January. It is an opportunity to enjoy each other’s creative endeavors

JANUARY SHOW

January 2025

WATER WONDERLAND

Theme: Water needs to be incorporated into the artwork from a mere drop to an ocean to any way we can express this vital element in our art. This theme is meant to be includive and open to artist interpretation.

Receiving: Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

Reception: Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, from 5 pm to 6:30 p.m.
Removal: Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Eligibility: This is a CCAL Member Show. This show is open to CCAL members only. The Show Chair will determine if artwork meets fine art criteria and is accepted. Exhibiting artists must show current membership card at receiving.

FIRST PLACE

#3, Jasime Martinson GENTLE BEASTS, Mixed Media Judge’s Comment: “This tender scene and interaction between the manatees evokes emotion. The colors and shimmering texture gives a nice underwater effect."

SECOND PLACE

#43, Hui Conti, MANGROVES 2, Oil Judge’s Comment: “The perspective draws me into the body of water behind the mangroves. Beaustiful use of color.”

THIRD PLACE

#2, Jessi Dilich THE POND, Oil Judge’s Comment: “I find this very interesting, because I can't tell if I'm seeing shadows or looking down from high. Love the contrast of lights and darks with just a hint of water."

HONORABLE MENTION

#19, Beth Blewett CATCH AND RELEASE, Acrylic Judge’s Comment: “This small, but mighty painting packs a lot into it. I love the actions of the people, and the colors of the water are beautiful."

HONORABLE MENTION

#31, Jack Collins MORNING SUNLIGHT, Acrylic Judge’s Comment: “The texture used is very effective, as is the stream of light between the dock and boat. Overall, the colors work really well and gives a warming effect.”
