The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Forida has an "Apple Pie Tree" at their entrance that needed restoration. The RMHC supported the Cape Coral Art League SUMMER ART CAMP and the CCAL gives back too!
The Cape Coral Art League thanks the RMHC for their support by giving back. Thank you to Christine Dekkers and Hal Klingler who completed a restoration project of the "Apple Pie Tree". Thank you for your tremendous experience in knowing the right materials to restore the tree to its former glory!
The best "Apple Pie Tree" that Christine recalls was at Frank & Sue Behan's restaurant in Glastonbury, CT. They had a mirrored window that children couldn't see. The tree would tell stories but also commented on the chilren in the audience, because the storyteller could see them. Christine reflects back on the many smiles on the children's faces as the tree would comment about a bow in a child's hair and they couldn't figure out how the tree knew!
Many thanks to Laura and her staff for encouragement and excitement as the tree came to life again!

KiKi Brewsaugh is exhibiting her hand-painted eggs along with “cracked egg art” in the gallery’s glass case. She has perfected this delicate art form requiring patience and imagination for which she calls upon “spirit of the universe.” Themes vary from divers under water to Christmas figures and “steampunk that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th century steam-powered machinery.” Kiki also creates small mosaic-like paintings from eggshells that have been crushed and re-assembled on canvas. She maintains KiKi’s Art Studio in Lehigh Acres. Anyone interested in purchasing KiKi Brewsaugh’s work can contact her at 239-246-6794 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Betsy Koscher is exhibiting her paintings and chalk pastel. She is an accomplished artist/teacher who studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. Betsy teaches a children’s art class at the Cape Coral Art League. Anyone interested in purchasing Betsy Koscher’s artwork can contact her at email@example.com or 413-335-0521.
William Koscher’s photographs on aluminum are on display in the alcove area of the gallery. A retired high school history teacher from Massachusetts, Koscher has been an avid photographer since his teens. As a Coast Guard Academy cadet he sailed with the Barque Eagle across the Atlantic, sparking an early interest in travel and photography. With his landscapes, travel, wildlife, architecture and florals he seeks to “evoke wonder, curiosity, mood and emotion.” Printing on aluminum, he says, creates especially vibrant prints. He is a member of the Cape Coral Art League and has garnered many awards for his work both in Massachusetts and Southwest Florida. Anyone interested in purchasing Bill Koscher’s photographs can contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org or call him at 413-335-4507.
Multi-talented artist Judith MacLaren is familiar to gallery goers for her work in the recent Decorative Artists of Southwest Florida exhibition. She is also a miniaturist and is showing a group of exquisite tiny rooms she made by hand for a 17-room house in 1982. Although she no longer has the house, photographs reveal an extraordinary bit of architecture that she created. It is a step back in time when “doll” houses were popular and reflect a dedication to authentic representation. Anyone interested in purchasing Judith MacLaren’s work can contact her at 239-671-5770 or email@example.com.
The Gallery is pleased to welcome back Judy Usavage who first exhibited in 2016. Her series of “cloud paintings” are on view in the hallway area of the gallery. Originally from Illinois she has lived in Florida for many years and is convinced that “Florida has the best sky scenes, unmatched anywhere in the United States.” She is a member of the Lee and Peace River Painters, plein air groups that capture area scenes year-round, but took a month off this year as temperatures soared. Her dramatic, ethereal paintings reflect influences of Turner, Sargent and Monet. She believes that “art adds a deeper dimension to one’s life because it is an expression of one’s reaction to the environment around us and our inner feelings.” Along with Judy’s paintings her husband, adventure author James P. Usavage has his four novels displayed in the gallery’s glass case. The books include “A.C.E. Vanguard” “Miocene II” “Waltzing With the Wind” and “Footsteps in the Attic.” The case also features his poetry and some photographs of the couple’s recent western road trip. If interested in purchasing Judy Usavage’s work: firstname.lastname@example.org or 239-574-1974.

Social time: 1:30pm to 2:00 pm to meet and greet Ms. Lovegrove
Painting fun: 2:00pm to 4:00 pm
Ms. Lovegrove is hosting (once again - and we thank her very much) a fund-raising event at the Cape Coral Art League - "Raise the Roof". The Cape Coral Art League is a 501(c)3 organization who recently replaced the roof of the building at 516 Cultural Park Blvd and the funds raised will pay down the debt on the roof replacement.
Leoma is an impressionist-expressionist painter known worldwide for her depictions of Florida lifestyle. Located in the heart of Matlacha Island, Lovegrove Gallery and Gardens is one of the most colorful landmarks in the Sunshine State. It is there that she is inspired within her own waterfront gallery and botanical gardens where she greets thousands of visitors each year. Her contagious love of her tropical environment has been instrumental in encouraging tourism to the state from all over the world.
REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 60!

It's called "BUSINESS AFTER HOURS" and has 2 purposes: to promote the Cape Coral Art League and to provide a quality-networking environment for Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce members and their perspective members.
Come and help your CCAL in meeting and greeting the guests. Choose to mentor one or 2 guest(s) and walk them around the CCAL: Gift Shop, Gallery and Studio 1 and 2. Answer any questions regarding Classes & Workshops! Give them our general information flyers and cards. Share your great stories on why you belong to the CCAL!
